Your psych is a quack. Clonazepam is long-acting. If you take Clonazepam more than four times daily, it will accumulate in your liver and hurt you. If you are taking high-dose Clonazepam, it should not be taken more than three times daily to prevent excessive accumulation.

4 milligrams is the upper limit of what you can safely take in a single day. I would recommend no more than 3 milligrams. Clonazepam is extremely potent.

If you were taking the Alprazolam and Etizolam recently, those need to be stepped out gradually while the Clonazepam is stepped in to replace them. The solution is not to take monster doses of Clonazepam, but rather to take twice the equivalent dosage of it- relative to the Alprazolam and Etizolam dosages in order to compensate for Alprazolam and Etizolam tolerance.
