for the past 9 years. My question is, there is the possibility I may be pregnant. I am concerned this medicine may have damaged the fetus, if there is a pregnancy. I am also afraid to just stop this med without tapering for fearFears and phobias of withdrawl.I have so many times try to take it off but i couldnot, i have too much stress for too many years a go, and just clonazepam had help me to continue my life.and now i want too much to have a child.but i am afriad of risks.in addition i am 31 years old Can you give me any advice.? I'm sure there are many womenWomen's way who take an anticonvulsant for epilepsyEpilepsy Epilepsy - resources Treatment of epilepsy, which I know clonazepam used for so, what do these women do? Continue their medications or stop them? I DO NOT have epilepsy, but have taken this medication for panic/anxiety (STRESS) disorder.
Talk to your doctor about this ASAP. Clonazepam is a class D drug and should not be taken during pregnancy if possible. "If" you are pregnant (and it looks like your not sure right now) your doctor may want to tapper you off the clonazepam and put you on a medication that is much safer to take during pregnancy (there are a lot of options available these days). And you are right, you must NOT stop taking this medication cold-turkey - this can be very, very dangerous!
My advice? Go to to the doctor and determine whether you are pregnant or not - and go from there. If you arent pregnant but want to start a family, discuss alternative medications to the clonazepam.
