I was diagnosed about 14 years ago. I was put on Paxil and felt better but switched to Lexapro because of weight gain. I stopped taking Lexapro after a year or so because I was feeling really good. After 1 year I had to go back on it because my anxiety returned. I stayed on it for 10 years until I had a relapse this past December. We tried to increase the dose but it didn't work. These past 6 months have been a real struggle for me. Nothing seems to be working for me yet. I go to therapy, exercise, take meds...still feeling bad. I have had some good days but more bad ones. I'm not throwing in the towel though. I'll get better one of these days. These meds take some time to work.
How long have you been battling anxiety? Passed my first day of lexipro 10mg and possibly feel a bit better but didn't sleep well last night. Out like a light till 245 am then wide awake. Hope my body get used to it and normality returns. How are you doing with your new meds?
These are all symptoms of anxiety. When mine is really bad I have no appetite and eating makes me want to gag. I have lost 19 lbs since my anxiety returned.
No not in therapy, this all happend in the past 7 days. I never believed in anxiety and depression. Needless to say I do now. It just seems like everyday is up and down with emotions and worr . Tingling in my arms and feet sometimes and I feel like I'm getting a cold sore. Food makes my stomach turn. Is all this normal from anxiety.
Are you in therapy? Some people can control their anxiety with therapy alone. I am not one of them. It is certainly possible the anxiety could go away if it's situational.
Thank you. I am new to this anxiety stuff and it really ***** so far I feel a recent death of grandfather brought it on and I had a health anxiety scare with ms the day after. It it possible this will last for a few weeks and go away?
Lexapro worked very well for my gad/panic disorder. I was on it for 10 years before it pooped out. It worked so well, I basically forgot about anxiety until it returned. It can make you sleepy but I experienced no other side effects. Hopefully it works as well for you. I have since tried Effexor and didn't care for it. Now I'm on Zoloft and don't feel too confident with this one either.
