deconditioning, anxiety or something else??

Is it normal if your out of shape for your heart rate to get up to around 180 really quickly?  Because i took the trash can around to the back of my house, which is up a slight hill.  Takes about a minute.  By the time I made it up I was feeling a little winded and my heart rate was up to 180.  Checked less than a minute later and my heart rate was down to 112 and about 5 minutes later I sat down and it was around 90.  My resting heart rate is usually in the high 60's low 70's when I'm really tired laying in bed at night.  I've had a cardiac workup, including holter and 4 ekg's, bloodtests, stuff like that.

\Thanks in advance

Actually that demonstrates a very healthy heart. It recovered extremely quickly, like an athletes level. Less conditioned people have trouble getting there heart rate up quickly as well. The ability for your heart to adapt to that degree is a great indicator of heart health.

I have beentold what really matters is not how high the rate gets, but how fast it recovers.  Of course, I worry about my heart rate, too, so I'm no expert :)

the normal resting heart rate is around 75 beats per minute. going up to 180 so fast i don't understand. what did your dr. say? did they also check your blood pressure? i think it would be a good idea to start exercising if your dr. says it's alright.  take care. remar
