Yes,it works,bt its not d perfect one though.u shud try other therapies alongside, cos breathin problems aint the only thing u experience in panic attacks, try meds too,it helps.wish u d very best
i have! i think everyone should have this kind of therapy, even people without mood disorders. i have learned how my mind and behaviors affect one another. i also took dialectical behavior therapy classes where i have learned life skills... how to regulate my emotions, how to have interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. i cannot tell u how much this type of therapy has changed my life. i did mostly "talk therapy" counseling for 6 years before i started this type of counseling. i think u should try it and see how much it will help u!
my boyfriend had some success with this.
they go through your specific problems, and then they find ways for you to change the way you think and do things and react to things so that it works through your problems.
this is helped him.
they did give my boyfriend got given a lot of homework to do. (a bit too much for someone with depression)
and they finnished his course of sessions before he was ready.
i hope it works for you.
CBT can be very successful. The breathing technique is what I use to stop a panic attack in its tracks. You learn ways to combat the anxiety using breathing, meditation, self-coaching, etc. It is a very good starting place. Sometimes it isn't enough and people, like me, need medication as well. But I think everyone sould start with talk therapy and CBT. Good luck!!!
