Been a long time since I saw any material in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, and it reminds me of the day when that's all there was! Sitting at my HUGE telex style data entry machine, all we had was CAPS. In fact, when our offices began to use PC's, many people deliberately used UPPER CASE because they thought the computer would not "understand" small letters. And sometimes, they were correct.

But in this day and age of political correctness, and gentle, new age ways, let me put you hip to something: MESSAGES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE TAKEN TO MEAN YOU ARE YELLING AND SCREAMING AT PEOPLE.  So press the caps-lock key, Kitty, and whisper to us in lower case. Then again, maybe your keyboard is stuck in all CAPS. Could happen.

At the tender age of 31, I predict that you will, one great day, be free of your affliction. I after all, had panic and anxiety basically from age 6 to 46 or so -and I'm fully recovered now, so I know it can be done. Perhaps some time with a psychiatrist -both the get your meds set right and to dig down into whatever is creating the need in the first place- will be beneficial.

And I see slurpee has some good results (well, his spouse did, anyway) with an exercise program. I don't know whether the level at which she performs can be sustained indefinetly, but I DO know my gym time and learning some martial arts were beneficial for me, and, more importantly, the incorporation of a change in lifestyle may be very helpful sinmply because you are "doing life" differently. But, who knows, maybe cross-stitch is just the thing for you.

No matter what the right fit is for you, I can almost guarantee that soke time in therapy -hopefully with a psychiatrist, will probably speed you on your way to the recovery that you -and all of us- so badly want and need.

Stay with us, won't you, and let us know how you are doing. Maybe even offer a helping hand to others along the way. I'll keep an eye out for you.

my wife suffered from anxiety for 7 years...  went thru gobs of different Rx cocktails...  including your Zoloft & Ativan mix...  she had the same issue with uncontrollable eating (especially at midnight while sleep walking)...  finally solved all her problems by QUITTING ALL PRESCRIPTION drugs !!  i'd swear the doctors in this country and medical corporations are drowning us in prescriptions....   her new drug of choice is Rigorous Excercise.  she joined a group called "extreme boot camp" where they make you run and sweat and do military-style drills till you are totally exhausted...  no more time for anxiety...  and all the endorphines her body is naturally releasing has repalced any chemical cocktail the doctors could come up with.  have to admit, it is nice to have my wife back again....  the drugs just made her a zombie.  now she has her energy back and lives (nearly) stress free.  she feels hella better than she has for years.  i hope you find your balance.  good luck curbing your anxiety.    hang in there :0)

I too and am on Zoloft and Ativan.  Have you been talking to a good therapist? I had alot of trial and error with someone I felt comfortable with.  Once I finally found one, I felt much better and made more progress.  I know what it is like to lose  your sense of identity and get frustrated, but in my opinion, the answer to your question, is no, I do not think you will feel like this forever.  I also think that this forum is a great place to talk to people in your same situation, so please stay with us and keep us posted!
