ear trouble

Here I am yet again with another question someone might be able to help me with...I have a funny sensation in my ears like ive driven up a hill and they need to be popped its making me a little dizzy im not wanting to panic about this as I have had a really good day today.  I actually got out of the house and walked around our local park which is a huge step for me to take.  The ear thing is worrying me though i have no water in them is this just another symptom of anxiety or do you think it could be something else...Probably just a silly question but dont want to keep going to the doctors.  Ive tried popping my ears but I cant.....

i realise it could be my sinuses as well--very interesting--sometimes mine get a bit sore because i naturally want to rub them...sigh This anxiety is something else!  now my nose and sinuses give me a bit of a "pop" like if i was stuffed up and it unclears just like that!

Don't you hate it when someone asks more questions to answer a question? :-) I have very similar symptoms and am trying to research this myself. But, in order to do this scientifically I have a few questions to ask that, if everyone responds to, might disclose some commonalities that could be helpful in diagnosing this problem. These questions are based on symptoms presented by a number of other people with the same or at least similar condition.

(1.) Was the onset of your symptoms sudden?

(2.) Would you describe the sensation in your ears as being similar to that when riding in an airplane?

(3.) Has it ever effected your chest area in a similar manner.

(4.) Do your symptoms ebb and flow?

(5.) Do your symptoms increase commensurately with exercise?

(6.) Do you ever experience associated pain in your ears or eustachian tubes?

(7.) Do you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome? If so do your symptoms increase commensurately with your IBS symptoms?

(8.) Do have any autoimmune disorders, i.e inflammatory conditions.

(9.) Do you have migraine headaches?

(10.) Are you on anti-anxiety medications, i.e. Xanax. If so how long have you been on this/these medications.

Anything that you can add may be extremely beneficial.

Yep, could be anxiety.  There is nothing to worry about if it's not anxiety though.  Worst case scenario - you have some allergies or sinus problems during the time your ears feel plugged.  That's worst case! My ears have been doing this and I work in an ear, nose throat clinic - so I know I'm fine b/c I get my ears checked any time it happens.  Sometimes my sinuses get all crazy and my ears stop up, ring, etc.  Believe me, it's common.  Hope that helps:)

This is anxiety for sure. I have the same problem. It is nothing harmful to your body just a reaction to the anxiety. Even though you had a good day you still have GAD and will have underlying anxiety that will continue to cause problems until you get it all under control. copy and paste this ling it tells you about all the symptoms of anxiety and hearing problems is on there.

Don't worry and try not to think about or it will just get worse and you will have a panic attack.
