I started fainting when I was 5 (30 now), due to anxiety... I have fainted at least 60 times in my life since, it's so frustrating. The first time I passed-out was when the monkeys came and took Dorothy and Toto in the Wizard of Oz, crazy I know ~ since then it's ranged from fear of needles, watching other people get injured, getting my ears pierced, seeing a bear rug as a child, the list goes on and on. In the early years, I'd get dizzy, could hear what was going on around me while unconcious, wake up and be fine! But NOW, it takes longer to wake up, and I have NO CLUE where I am or how I got there. On Jan 19th, 2012, my 5 year old son broke his arm, not sure what I was thinking, but I put him in the van and started to drive to the hospital. I had almost NO WARNING before I passed out at the wheel on a busy parkway, crashed 4 times, completely unconcious on the steering wheel. While no one was hurt, I know we are very fortunate to be alive! I'm so concerned about my future with this condition, if you learn anything new from doctors, please send me a message! I'm ***@**** The only advice I can give is that it seems eating a banana after I wake up helps me get back to normal faster, other than that, I'm at a loss for any explanation!
Hi Kay, I have the same problem, i have been fainting on and off for 30 years, with me though they havent yet found a cause, i am currently going through all the tests, i got married last week and was terrified i was going to faint, i didnt thank goodness but i didnt enjoy the day as much as i wanted, i went to my doctor a few days before to get something to hopefully help me through but unfortunatley he couldnt give me anything, he said because they think its my blood pressure dropping anything he gave me to calm my nerves would lower my bp even more, all i can suggest is the day before the wedding make sure you chill out, get a good nights sleep, on the day take things one step at a time, dont concentrate on the actuall ceromony, what is it your actually doing at the wedding? the more you think about fainting the worse you will feel, i know its easy saying these things because thats all i thought about even saying my vows i was thinking i was going to faint, good luck, let me know how you get on, jo
