hi friend,
really thanks for giving me reply.Even i feel like going for counselling alone but the problem is like, just as my parents say, if it is all about my attitude or not.Its a point of confusion. You told you are going for counselling,so how much it helped you? My parents were able to convince me its just an attitude problem, but i donno how just an attitude problem make me sit for hours without doing anything in this age.I am in dilemma regarding what to do... n i am studying a course in which quick grasping, judgement and all are needed.
WILL COUNSELLING HELP ME? THEN PLEASE TELL ME SOME GOOD COUNSELLING CENTRES .
Hi,
You did a VERY brave thing in coming and talking about this. Do you have a family doctor? If you do you absolutely need to make an appointment as soon as possible and tell your doctor everything you said on here. Your doctor will help you.
Does your school offer free counselling? Your parents are afraid of the stigma of mental illness. My friend, it is completely understandable for them to feel that way. However, this is not something to be ashamed of. I suffer from depression and anxiety, and I go to counselling everyday. I am different like you, but we are not alone millions of people suffer from depression. Counselling helps tremendously. Since my depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in my brain, my doctor prescribed me an antidepressant. I don't know if that would help you because everyone is different, but your doctor will be able to tell you.
There IS a point in living for you..you are a postgraduate student obviously you are smart and ambitious. Your depression is CONVINCING you that there is no point in living. But it you can get better I promise you. Go to your doctor first and then please consider the counselling. Counselling is 100% confidential so you can do this privately without anyone even knowing.
