Well cj29 has given you some great advice..Just try to relax and work on those deep breaths..That usually helps me. Also, try to keep your mind on something else,I know it's hard but it does help..

The answer is a resounding YES!  You are doing the EXACT thing you should be doing.  Working with your doctor and psychologist is precisely what you should be doing in my opinion.  When I suffered my first panic attack 3 years ago it hit me out of the blue.  I was afraid to even leave the house and I did not understand what was going on.  I felt totally helpless, and had a hard time functioning.

Even though it does not seem like there is end in sight, there is and you WILL get there and will become a much stronger person for it.  I have become more patient, caring and a much better husband that appreciates the little things in life now.  I know it is hard to see it, but we learn much more in times of despair than when things are going good.  It makes the good times that much better.

Now, it is hard work and it is tough confronting these fears, but as I said, you are doing what you need to do.  You will have good days and some bad, but remember even the most MINUTE bit of progress is a great step foward.  Just keep going and consulting with your doctor, psychologist and this forum.  If you need any help or more advice please feel free to ask anytime.

Thanks for the support. I have seen a doctor, tried the drugs, take ativan and have started seeing a psychologist. I just can't seem to get it together. Everything is just so stressful right now. I can't even enjoy the good days because I know a bad one is right around the corner. Is there an end in sight because I don't think I can do this forever!

Panic and anxiety can really take a toll on us.  When I first went through panic attacks I did not even go to work for awhile, so I commend you for just showing up to work; that is a huge step in confronting it.  As far as the anxiety goes, have you seen your doctor about your concerns?  Also, ensure you see a mental health care professional to learn about the panic/anxiety cycle.

For immediate relief when I had panic attacks, I would start slow deep breathing (it is amazing how it can just slow everything down) and remember that no matter how bad it got, which was really bad, that it was just a panic attack and it would pass.  I know it is easier said than done.  Just know that many of us here are going or have gone exactly what you are going through.  Keep using this forum and let us know if there is any thing else we can do!
