hello there.
Hey, I'm sixteen and i know just what your going though. my parents and i fight all the time about everything just like you and your family. What i do is i go into my room and i just listen to music and just take some deep breaths. You should just try to calm down. You know you are only thirteen and its a really hard time, your growing and you probly have a alot of pressure from friends and family and school, so you are probly going to feel like this for a while. Are you having trouble breathing/
I'm a grown adult and you can read my post here also. I'm suffering horribly also. I don't know if giving phone numbers is allowed here. I'd gladly tell your parents not to take what you are going through lightly. They need to get you further help. Let them read this
.
Please don't make your child suffer. I suffer from terrible anxiety and panic attacks and it is ruining my life. Your child is only 13 and you can nip this problem in the bud rather than making your child's life a living hell. It is affecting school and will impact success in later life. Please do all you can for your child. Please.
Go see your school counselor, then have him or her arrange a meeting with your parents. You need help, you know it, which makes you brighter than most people. Now use your resources and get it, and use the kind of persuasion on your parents that would work on you -- anxiety comes with anger, but you don't get much with anger, just more anger. I'm an adult, too, .like Patzy, this isn't a problem that only you have. Please listen to her, she gave you good advice.
Believe me everyone who suffers from anxiety and depression can relate to how you're feeling so you are absolutely not alone. Good thing is you are recognizing you have this problem at a young age and can get help for it now so that you do not have to start dealing with it at 30! You are way ahead of me:) I would definitely suggest going to talk to someone. If your parents won't get you help ask your school counselor, principal, or siblings to check into some sort of therapy for you. First, find out if you have insurance for this kind of thing. If not, there are places that are on a "sliding" scale and they will work with you on paying for it. You can look up family services in your area. Also, you can talk to your regular doctor about this too. This is NEVER fun for any of us but it does get better. Nothing is EVER worth giving up your life for. Yes, it is hard and sometimes it feels like we will never get better from this but with a little effort and maybe some medication you CAN live a "normal" life. Continue to write to people on this site and you will see how many people feel the exact same way you do. You are not alone and there are MANY people who care and understand what you are going through.
i take vyvanse 50mg for adhd and it has helped tremendously with my anxiety. i hardly take xanax anymore. you may need to switch medicines. you need to make your parents understand how bad off you are...i'm sure they love you and will listen. if not, like someone else said, go to your school counselor immediately!!!!! if you have an adult family member you can talk to that can maybe get thru to your parents do that. i am so sorry you are going thru this. i remember going thru a lot at your age too, and this will pass and maybe come again just get help from another family member or school counselor like now. keep us posted and remember, this will pass at least the worst of it will, you just need help to keep it from happening any more.
GO SEE YOUR SCHOOL COUNSELOR!!!!!!
