Hang in there, I know exactly how you feel and sometimes it feels as if you are completely alone but chat forums like this are really helpful in knowing you are not alone and the most important thing you can do for yourself is to reach out and ask for help. I would recommend cognitive therapy with a psychologist or psychiatrist and they can decide if you need drug therapy as well. I have lived with horrendous anxiety attacks for years and it's a roller coaster, just know you are not alone and it really helps if you can talk to someone.
Goodluck,
Tanya
My therapist once said to me that if you think you are going crazy, you aren't...it is the ones who think that they are normal, aren't! I know how scared you are right now. I was in the same place as you many years ago and I felt like there was no help also. BUT THERE IS! Please make an appt. with a psychiatrist and get diagnosed. From there, you can decide with your doctor what would work best for you to overcome anxiety. There are medications and talk therapies to consider. Just remember, it won't go away overnight and you have to be very patient with it. It may seem like a lifetime right now, but it isn't. Best to you!
you are def not going insane... if you were going insane, would you have the right state of mind to wonder if you were going insane? no! your symptoms are similar to what i and others here have had. dont get too caught up in researching those meds side effects. sure there is the potential for things but it will just scare you to death! try to think about the positive things in your life and when neg thoughts come around, you must try and push them away... hope you feel better... george
You are not going insane. You are suffering symptoms that many of us suffer or have suffered. That may not make you feel a whole lot better about it... but rest assured that you are not crazy.
My anxiety symptoms can be very bad when I get a cold or a flu. And some cold and flu medications can add insult to injury. That may or may not be what's causing your symptoms. But it is a distinct possibility. And the fact that you are reading the label and investigating the possibilities is a good sign, IMHO.
It probably won't make you feel any better, but it is possible to greatly diminish anxiety, if not lick it for good. I've been taking klonopin for years and am now tapering off. I just spent the weekend out of town and though my anxiety increased somewhat, it was perfectly manageable. I'm feeling rather good about that.
Good luck!
