Hi, I did not have that problem, but I can tell you that your body will take a few weeks to get used to the paxil...sometimes making you feel way worse than before you started it, but...then everything should even out, and your body and mind should be adjusted. I have actually gained a lot of weight with paxil, but for my anxiety, it's the wonder-drug.
Feeling worse for the first month was my experience, and what I was told to expect from my Dr.
Maybe your body is just reacting to the new drug in it's system. Have you taken any other SSRI's before? I have had great success with paxil for my anxiety, more so than any of the others we tried.
But...you should probably try to eat something...especially if you experience any adverse effects from the paxil in the next few days/weeks...it'd be better to be feeling ok/strong thru it.
I should also mention that everyone reacts differently...I know someone who pretty much slept thru his first month on paxil, and then when he got used to it, was his normal self, just feeling better.
Good luck! and if you have any further questions, please ask!
At first Paxil made me very sedated, but usually people gain weight on it, not lose. It will probably pass, but keep a careful eye on it and make sure your psychiatrist knows how to deal with this medication. It can be hard to take and hard to stop taking. A good psychiatrist can make it easier, a bad one can make it worse. It helped me a lot with my phobias, though it didn't by any means cure me, but did have a lot of side effects. But then, I guess they all do for some people, and for others, a piece of cake!
