is this OCD?

hello
so over the last one month or so ive developed a really strange habit.i dont bite my nails and i never have.but i constantly keep playing with my nails.im having a really hard time explaining it to people.its a wierd sensation in my nails.and it gets really worse when i cut my nails.im DUMBFOUNDED by this.the closest guess is that maybe when i get nervous i play with my nails and therfore when i cut them suddenly i lose my outlet to the anxiety.the main problem lies in the skin between the nail and the finger.i keep seperating the two.almost trying to take the nail off my finger.i know its strange but its causing stress and depression.im confused weather its anxiety or something else.ive had a few tests but all came clear.so i guess its anxiety but its not going.i know some people say the y have a feeling of jumping out of their skin during anxiety.well this is pretty similar except its only the hand thats being affected.
help!

Sounds like its anxiety causing you to play with your nails, do you know what is making you so anxious or nervous? There has to be some trigger for it. If its an ocd you would more then likely just feel the need to cut your nails or trim them if its something making you nervous it sounds like an anxiety.
