Prior to undergoing your medical procedure, be certain to inform your physician(s) of the Klonopin prescription. They will make all of the necessary dosage adjustments in regards to opiates or other drugs to accommodate your specific needs.
I am down to 1.125 mgs of klonopin a day from 2 mgs. I have been taking my time. Is it going to get harder when my dose goes below the 1mg. a day. I am afraid the panic attacks will come back. I am on Celexa and Buspar to replace the Klonopin. So far I have had anxiety, but no panic attacks. I was on the Klonopin for five yrs. I was told that you do build a tolerance and my new doctor hates benzos because of liver damage and addiction problems. I have been cutting .125mg every couple of weeks.

Tolerance does not develop to the anxiolytic/anti-panic action of Klonopin. The manufacturer's suggested maintenance dosage for panic disorder is 0.5 mg twice daily. Two clinical trials revealed that the maximum response was appreciated at the target dosage of 1 mg daily. Your dosage is 1/2 of that amount, and as such, your response may be sub-optimal. Then again, it may not be. You should present your concerns to the prescribing physican.
