You were lucky to have a good doctor. I had to research the cause of my problem myself and then went to a doctor to have him test my adrenals. The test was positive.
I am so sorry that you are going through such a hard time right now. What you are experiencing can be normal for many of us that suffer from panic/anxiety. We get stuck in these cycles where we can't stop thinking about having an attack that we actually end up having one. Then there can be times that we aren't feeling anxious so we think something else is wrong...It is an endless thing.
Are you currently seeing a psychatrist? If not I would suggest that you do. Together you can figure out a treatment plan that is best for you. That may or may not include meds. Sometimes just having someone to talk to who understands is really helpful.
Also, try keeping a journal. Journaling has been a great outlet for me.
I really hope you start feeling better soon. Best wishes....
With all due respect, doctors do quite often test the adrenals and dont just prescribe happy pills as you call them. You were forunate in that their way a cause for your anxiety others are not
I did until I was properly diagnosed with an adrenal problem (which was treated). Not all anxiety is emotional and it is unfortunate that most doctors routinely give a happy pill without investigating physical causes.
Thank you for ur advice, i have suffered these for nearly 9yrs now. I get almost every symptom you can imagine. As sooon as i get into bed and lie down i get a hot sensation threw my body then that starts off the whole cycle of me being sick having diahorrea, the shakes and feeling that im going to die, i just hate it. Im on citalopram at the minute but u still feel like im going mad sometimes, does anyone else feel like this?
It can be very normal. It leaves you with almost an anticipation like you are always worried and waiting for the next attack which causes you to be and feel anxious alot. I went for many months where I had non stop anxiety all the time. It is a horrible thing. I hope you can see your doctor and talk to them and hopefully figure somethings out so you can start to feel better. Good Luck
You might be suffering from high cortisol. Have your adrenals checked.
I know from experience the anxious state can last for months and panic attacks can happen daily. I went through a horrible period of anxiety and panic. I have since been treated with meds and therapy and I am much better! Hopefully, you feel better soon!
