To wean off Lorazapam without Diazapam?

Hi.    I have been on Lorazapam for approximately 9 months,   Started on 3 1mg tablets every eight hours.   I then reduced this to taking a 1 mg tablet only when required, but I found this to be at least 1 mg per day.  I Stayed on this regime for two months then reduced the dose to 0.5mg tablet every 12 hours and would sometimes eek this out to 24 hours.     It was very difficult dealing with what I presume are the withdrawal factors, headaches, terrible giddiness, but I must admit that was all I was feeling.   Managed to deal with this for approximately one month and for the last week have reduced again to 0.25 mg of LR only when desperate.......  But I really am having problems with this but am so reluctant to increase the dose again.    My question is, if I persevere and cope with almost debilitating headaches and giddiness will I conquer the adiction or should I be taking 0.25 LR on a more regular basis, like say every eight hours for a week or so and decrease from there.
I'm not too keen to be put on Diazapam and then have to withdraw from that...   I have quite a busy life style and really need to be able to function better than I'm managing at the moment.
I, like others, go for smart walks every day too.   This really helps with the giddiness, but when I stop it all comes back again.
I really wish I had never seen Lorazapam.   Needed it for panic attacks, which, once I discovered that my health was 100%, I didn't really need them, but now I'm dealing with the w/ds.
For those in the same situation as me, Ihope you are coping OK.   Any suggestions would be fabulous please.

OK. I suggest you stop messing about with the dosages yourself and consult with your doctor about the correct way to withdraw from this medication. I don't know if you will need the diazepam to help with this or not, that will be a decision you and your doctor make.
None of us on this forum are qualified to tell you how to manage your meds.
I wish you the best
