medication advice please

could anyone tell me if propanalol helps physical stress and anxiety my cardio doctor has put me on a beta blocker for abnormal heart rythum due to anxiety its called Bisoprolol but i read that its only for high BP and heart rythum. But the propanalol does the same but allso helps anxiety if so i would ask my doctor next time i visit if i could try it as i dont want lots of tablets if i can take one that helps my heart rythum and anxiety at the same time thanks everyone.

Propanolol (Inderal) is actually one of the most commonly Rx'd beta blockers, both for cardiac symptoms and for anxiety.  While all beta blockers have a similar mechanism of action, some work better than others for some people depending on the reason it's needed in the first place.

Start by having a discussion with your doctor...ask him why he chose the med he did for your condition, and if it would be the most optimal choice for treatment of concurrent anxiety in addition to the heart issues.  Then you could ask about the Inderal.
