What is another strong altnerative to benzodiazepines (Xanax)

Instead of taking benzodiazepines like Xanax, what other medications can be used that are fast acting to cure anxiety and give that slight euphoria that Xanax provides.

(The alternative cannot be a benzodiazepine, also not looking for natural remedies)

For one, there is no cure for anxiety, only treatment and management.

We discussed this on your other thread.  You have several options here...one is to discuss a change in your regimen to see if you can get the anxiety better controlled, the other is to use the Xanax only when needed.  There really isn't anything with the same anxiolytic properties of a benzo that will probably be close to being as effective.

I sincerely think you need to talk to your doctor, and find a better long term plan, that includes perhaps a change in your meds, the therapy I recommended, and some work on your part.

Just my own opinion, but I think you're overthinking this Xanax/benzo thing.  Please talk with your doc and let us know what he says.  Good luck.

Benzo's are the only meds I know of that will give you very fast relief during a panic attack. Unless there's something out there I've never heard of before.

Sorry for the typo in the title, sometimes I type too fast for my own good.
