ocd and hiv

I have ocd and are afraid of hiv. I recently went to use the staff bathroom. Their
was something wet on the handicapped railing. about the size of the end of
one index finger. Not thing I rebuded my finger and thumb together and did
not thing anything about it . I hold on the railing so I do not have to seat on the
toilet. After finishing my business I washed my hands but I could have done
a better job of it. About 15. Anyway, I asked the janitor what the cleaned the
handicap railing with, The janitor said they did not clean the handicapped railing
because no one goes to the bathroom on it. I do not know what I touched on the railing. Their are one or two persons that spend too much time in the bathroom at times. I am afraid of hiv

I agree, there truly is a zero chance of contracting HIV from that situation. I have severe health anxiety and OCD as well so I know how overwhelming a fear of an illness can be. Please try not to let this worry take over. I would do what cj29 suggests and try and seek some therapy or talk to your doctor to help alleviate your fears.
Good Luck

Are you getting treated for your OCD?  OCD and health anxiety can go hand in hand in my opinion. There is zero change that you could have even remotely gotten it from what you describe, but that doesn't subdue our fears when we worry constantly about it, in my experience.  Do you have access to therapy?  For me, confronting the issues head on gives you the tools to effectively deal with your fear quite rationally...keep us posted!
