panic attack?

i sometimes have very random nervousness. so i looked online and i truly believe i get panic attacks. i am 20 years old. the last one i got was at my job at the end of the day while i was counting the money in the cash register. out of nowhere i got very nervous/anxious, my hands were shaking pretty badly, my mouth was very dry and i had trouble breathing. it lasted about 10-20 minutes. i tried to control it but i could not. i dont want to lose my job because of it. and now i get nervous about the next time i have to do that at work, i feel like i will have another one so im continuously thinking about it. i talked to my doctor and he said its probably my personality. i know that it is not, im not a nervous person but since about a year ago it started happening. what should i do?

This is classic anticipatory anxiety meaning once you suffer a panic attack,  you fear it happening again.    I agree with the above replies that you could benefit from counseling and therapy.

Yes it probably is anxiety/panic attacks.
Perhaps there is something about counting out the money that triggers some sense of anxiety in you, subconsciously or not.
Go see a psychiatrist or counseling service. It doesn't seem like your doctor has a good handle on nervous disorders.
Don't be afraid to seek help.  Good luck.

Hello hs!  It very much sounds like what you experienced was a minor panic attack.  But,  if you want peace of mind,  I suggest you going to visit your doctor and ruling anything out.  Have everything you are worried about checked and let us know what you find out.  Good luck!
