panic attacks

I have generalized anxiety that is usually well controlled, but lately I've been having panic feelings all of a sudden. It first started a couple of weeks ago when I had a respiratory infection with asthmatic bronchitis which was triggering anxiety attacks due to inability to breath deeply. Now, the panic feelings seem to be happening intensely a few times a day even though my bronchitis is better. Does anyone have any ideas of preventing these attacks and also how to recover sooner when after they occur?

Thank you so much for your comments and the reminder that my respiratory infection is better so I can practice on those deep breaths before the panic comes on.  I'm  trying to work on the faith in my self part. I also suffer from seasonal depression and lately it has been difficult to think positive.  Just the fact that you answered my post and suggested that I give myself some credit made me smile. Thanks again. :)

Give yourself some major credit for knowing your triggers with this round of PA symptoms, now work on some deep breathing the second your symptoms come on! (practice allot when YOU DO NOT have symptoms) focus more on putting these symptoms in check before they get going and not so much on recovery after a PA (your body will do that naturally) also read your own post and let this be a reminder that NOW you can take a normal breaths and you are OK and not sick anymore. practice practice practice, sometimes 2 steps back for one step forward.. have faith in yourself you have great insight into your PA's.
