switch 3.5 mg of ativan

I've been on ativan gradually increasing the dosage to 3.5 mg for 6 months.i take .75 in the morning .75 midday and 2.0mg to help sleep. I wake up with some anxiety. I think klonopin would be a better choice because it has a longer 1/2 life. what would be the best way to swap the 2 drugs from 3.5mg of ativan to klonopin

Please dont do anything without the help of your doctor, withdrawel from ativan as to be done very slowly, I also would like to know how you get .75mgs do you cut the tablet or can you get that dosage were you live? 1mg is all we can get hear in england,
just be careful and wean of the ativan
