I was diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome in July. I went back to hematologist and got following results. ANA CHOICEGPositive.1:640H Speckled on ANA Titer and Pattern. IGG Serum 2054,IGA Serum 925, BUN Creatine ratio 24 High, Globulin Calculated 4.2 and Cardiolipin AB (IGH) 46 H and positive. I don't understand my blood work. A rheuma said what I have is within the Lupus family? I was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus 5 years ago. I would like to know if anyone has had any similar finding. I would like to know exactly what I have. I've gone to two rheumatologists. One who said Sjogren's and the other who didn't give it a name. I'm confused, can somebody help. I'll be forever thankful.
I am not an expert at reading the test results but I do enough to say that your tests are leaning to Lupus. I will try to look into later but unfortunately can't right now. It is possible they have classified you as undifferentiated connective tissue disease. This often happens when the bloodwork and symptoms are not quite yet revealing all to the doctor. Sjogren's can often go hand in hand with Lupus and other auto-immune syndromes. How are they treating you? Did they start you on Plaquenil?
Thank you for your post. I'm currently taking Plaquenil and Aspirin. I'm worried about Cardiolipin proteins. I feel very tired, suffer from dried eyes and get bllisters in my mouth. I have body ache and fatigue a lot. I develop a rash last week. I'm going to see rheumatologist in few days. Thank you again.
The Plaquenil can take a few months to get working. Ensure you find out what your iron levels are at. Anemia is common with Lupus and if you can get that under control (iron tablets for iron deficiency or B12 for other), reduce the stress in your life and get all the rest you can it can start to improve. Talk to your pharmacist about a rinse for the sores in your mouth. I get one that is a powder and mix with warm water and flush at the first sign and it quickly helps. Good luck everything.
I will try. I've been given Prednisone and Salagen. I started taking them and got severe stomach cramps. I left message with doctor to call me. I thought I needed to go to the hospital. Let's see what is next. Thanks for your help.
Did you take the prednisone with food? It can really bother your stomach if you take it on an empty stomach. Looking at Salagen, it didn't look like there was much difference between it and a placebo related to stomach problems.
I took Prednisone with food but I think it was taking it together with Salagen. I read about Salagen and gallbladder problems. I don't have my gallbladder. I may take it at a different time. I'm getting confused with so many pills now. That's why I separate them.
Thank you. I really need to feel better.
