never asked him! but can a normal gp examine me for fibromyalgia?
You may want to explore fibromyalgia. I have Lupus and fibro and the hurting and swelling you are describing I get with fibro. There is no test, they determine it by excluding other items and seeing if you have enough of the pain points to qualify. Do ask your doctor about that.
hi trudie, nope no rash but the funny thing is that everyone has something else to say .... tried all the meds .... started with water tablets, heart tablets, joint tablets, numerous blood counts and full allergy tests at labs in my town where i live as well as hospitals....
i've accepted this sickness including the part where it has no cure but what makes it hard is when i learn to deal with the symptoms, they suddenly change, like yesterday while rubbing my moms legs i decided to rub my own feet when i discovered that a part of my left foot (top) had sucken in followed with a swelling just before my toes.... now im even more confused!
help.....
Have you been to the doctor? What are they saying? Do you have the rash as well?
hi, sorry to here about the pain your mom is going through, but i would just like to enquire about her symptoms as i have a similar problem, i cant be touched in anyway without feeling pain, some days parts of my body feel like they not there in other words no feeling in certain parts, if someone sit on my bed or makes a movement on my bed it hurts, there is alot of joint and muscel pain, and no one including family or doctors can understand it, gaining wait is also another problem, i've been like this for 2 years now and im starting to learn how to cope with it, although sleep takes up most of my time as i dont feel like doing much because of pain, pain killers are temporary and i've stoped all meds for about 6 months... please write back as i would like to know if we have a similar illness maybe we can sort it out together.... katz
There are a number of auto-immune diseases that can cause these types of symptoms with Lupus being the first to come to mind. The good news is that there are treatments that can help her control the disease and manage the symptoms. Very good move with the rheumatologist.
