What else to take?

I was diagnosed with RA in April 2009.  I refused the drugs the rheumatologist wanted me to take.  Continued taking my vitamins and minerals, added boswellia and ALA when I remembered them and 1 Aleve at night to help with morning stiffness but didn't like it.  After printing many articles from dr mercola's web site my dr agreed to allow me to try ldn.  But he wanted to start slow at only 1.5 mg per night.  Tonight, Oct 8, 2009 will only be my second dose.  But I've read of other things you should take with it. Vitamins and such, but I haven't been able to find the web pages again that say how much of what you should take.  Does anyone here have any idea?

Thanks TrudieC.  I'm just learning about the alternatives.  But they sound much better than the main stream.  Let's face it, the disfigurement doesn't mean much if the meds kill you with a heart attack or stroke or lack of lung funtion.  That scares me a lot more. I still hurt, but not enough to take any pain meds this week.  So I believe the low dose naltrexone (ldn) is helping a lot.  The Boswellia helps with inflammation.  And I've forgotten what the alpha lipoic acid (ala) is suppose to do.  All in all I believe I'm better.  It's just that I know I read about more things to support your system and help relieve the pain.  I guess I'll just have to keep looking till I find it again.

I don't know much about alternative treatments so am responding so this gets bumped up for someone else to answer.  I do caution you to have regular x-rays to ensure that by not taking the prescribed meds that your disease is not progressing.  You don't want to lose function or have disfigurement.
