Overnight diapers?

by Diane1003, Apr 30, 2009 10:24PM
Has anyone found anything that holds 12 hrs worth of pee?!  My son wakes up some mornings with wet clothes b/c his diaper is full.  I tried the next size up and that didn't work. We use Pampers and he's quickly outgrowing a size 3.  I used a size 4 the other night and his clothes were wet.  I am wondering if how I velcro them if that makes a difference.  It seems if I put the strap higher so it can't fold over at his little belly the clothes won't touch the inside part of the diaper and come in contact with it...

Thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks in advance.

You may be able to get nappy mates which are like a pad you put inside the nappy for extra absorption.  Or you could try a menstrual pad if you can't get nappy mates.

Or use a double nappy.

Thanks - we tried 4s again last night and he woke up all wet...  I did an internet search for nappy mates and they're not available where I live nor does the site I found ship outside Australia/New Zealand...  I'll go to a store and ask about diaper inserts...  Thanks for the idea!

I am having the same problem with my son and I just went out tonight to get huggies overnights. He pees so much at night and every moring he wakes up soaked and I have to change his sheets clothes, everything. Tonight is the experiment....I'll let you know if it makes a difference. Does you son drink a lot before he goes to bed? I have cut my son back to 4-6oz before bed...didn't really help though. I also just bought the next size diaper. He is a 5 right now (my chunky boy!!), but I also want to see if size 6 helps at all.

we've tried the next size up and they don't help at all! I've heard of the Huggie overnight's but didn't see them last time I was at Target.  I'm still breastfeeding so who knows how much he gets before he goes to sleep...  Good luck to you!

Hey! Just letting you know the huggies overnights did work for us. I was so happy that he woke up dry! I found them at Walmart...not sure if you have one near you. Jeremiah just stopped nursing 6 weeks ago (he is almost 13 months) so I know, you can't tell how much your baby is getting. With these diapers I gave him the max amount of milk I would allow at night, and the diaper wasn't even filled up by morning.

Thanks. I talked to a friend who lives locally and they said they're at Target -but not the Target near where I work.  And of course that's the one where I looked!  I'll check out other stores and see if I can't find the overnights.  Thanks again.

Have you tried Luvs?  I have been putting the twins in those or Pampers Sensitive at night and that has done pretty well.  I loved Huggies cuddleweave when they were first born but now at 7 months, I do not think they work as well.  I may be looking for the Overnights very soon...

I've found and used a few times the Huggies Overnight diapers - they are in purple. We've also used size 4 Pampers Cruisers and they work well.

Well, it may depend on how he sleeps too.  My son is 7.5 mths and every since he learned to roll over he has liked sleeping on his belly.  Actually he sleeps on his belly but with his legs pulled up like on his knees with his butt in the air and his hands tucked under his belly! It's very funny!! But since he is a boy, the front of his diaper and clothes and belly would get soaked everynight until I started to pull the diaper up more in the front and make it tighter.  Like, overlap the tabs when you close it.  This might not work for all, but for him since he sleeps that way, it keeps him dry.  Good luck!

I had to wake up my son after a 2hr 15 min nap this evening and found him in that same position. On his belly and knees up. He actually had one of his arms under him too - had bad sheet marks on it!  Thanks for the idea with the diapers - I'll keep that in mind!

Pampers cruisers are the only ones that worked for Sophia at night.  I use Luvs during the day and just put Pampers on her at night.

I swear by luvs, pampers and cvs brand. They didn't cause my kids to have an accident at all. It may have been luck though!
