Advice on problems with therapy?

I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 in 2004. Since then I've been in and out of therapy multiple times.
My problem is that every 1-3 months they switch my therapists. Maybe I'm just insecure or picky, but it doesn't seem right to me that they change my therapist so often. Right after I become comfortable being open with them they're gone and I'm seeing someone new :(
Also, my moods fluctuate alot. And when I'm manic I stop going to therapy. Then they kick me out, and once my depression comes back I have to completely re-apply. And go figure, I'm too depressed to actually seek out help, much less go through all that paperwork again. It's a vicious cycle. I'm coming down from a 4 1/2 month Mania spell and am thinking about going back, but is there really any point?

Changing therapist that often seems counter productive to me. Have you put in a letter your concerns and your desire to stay with the same therapis? Sometimes it is not enough to do it verbally. This way you can at least know why this isn't possible as it is likely someone will respond to your letter.

Remaining in therapy is crucial but it does often happen (myself included) when mania occurs that it appears like its no longer needed but a lowering of self awareness can be part of mania. I do agree with the difficulty of being changed from one therapist to another as it has often taken me that period of time just to build up a working relationship with a therapist and it would seem unproductive to change to another one. Is this required where you go because of insurance reasons (as perhaps there is a way to change insurance coverage or carriers) or is there some other reason because that does undermine the help it is intended for. Regardless though its crucial to go back so they can work with you to see what is happening in your life and work with you to help but as this is best done long term there should be a way to stay with the same therapist and not have to keep changing.
