I didn't notice any weight gain but again, everyone is different.and it isn't really know for that like ziprasidone(Zyprexa) is.
I take geodon and have for about a year. I started taking 160mg a day. If I remember right, I had problems then with drowsiness. Now I've been tapered down to 60mg a day. I didn't notice any withdrawal symptoms going down but everyone is different. I've always taken herbal liver support and my liver enzymes have always been spot on.
One thing I have definitely noticed while taking geodon is cold shivers and goose bumps. Seriously it's weird. It doesn't really bother me that much, I just notice it. In Arizona, where I live, it's strange to get goose bumps when it's 110 outside.
Thank you both. What I have been reading Geodon is very hard to stop. It has made me gain lots of weight. And urinating too much. Kinda of scared of it now. And my short term memory is sad. Disgusted
Hi ,
I'm not quite sure which is worse maybe it's an individual thing but i've heard from some people within my therapy group that bi polar 2 cycle more often and have more depression than mania/ hypomania which can be a big risk factor for suicide as a group member died a couple weeks ago . And this one lady spent 3 weeks in hospital with manic psychosis and she is bi polar 1 but she now has been stable for over a year .
I was diagnosed with bi polar 2 ,agoraphobia , social phobia, psychosis and a possibility of avoidant personality disorder but they decided that schizoaffective bi polar type was more appropriate as i had all these different symptom's .
'Geodon' i think that stuff is called Zeldox (ziprazidone here in Australia ,i've been on it and i had to stop taking it because of restless arms and legs and very irritable and i could not sleep . I know that one guy on here is on it and he is doing really well on it .
Hi Robinlyn, bipolar 1 is harder to live with. Not all Psychiatrists always use the 1 vs 2 on the diagnosis.
Sorry,I have no experience with Geodon. Pamela
