as mention on my last writing. I have cyclothemia, mood disorder without hallucination in my hypomania.

So, I have known I have some kind of disorder like depression or bipolar for a long time. The issue of was, I never really felt like those described me right. They were always kind of off...but then I found cyclothymia. I started studying up on it and reading your posts and realized that it describes me perfectly. It's my personality and all my problems in a nutshell.

My "up" points are always fueled by creative energy and the urge to just do, do, do. I want to dive into new projects, be healthier, be more productive...I feel on top of the world, like I can achieve whatever I put my mind to. It's a nice feeling and I enjoy it thoroughly, but it never lasts.

I end up switching to my "down" periods and it's a total 180. I feel worthless, like I am not good at anything and like my life is pointless. I feel like I am just living to go through the motions until I die. Letting go all the great projects and the people in it.The only thing in these periods that helps is my mate, who makes me feel like I have some purpose. I'll ditch my creative endeavors for days to weeks at a time.

Depending on which phase I am in, I will either love being around people or want to be constantly alone. I will either want to sleep all day or short sleep pattern.

I feel like it's sort of a gift and a curse. Sometimes it allows me to see the world in a way that is so clear and so vivid and it makes me feel amazing. Other times it brings me down and makes me feeling horrible and I want it to go away.

I'm not sure if I want to get medicated at this point or not, since many tend to develop a bipolar 3. Part of me is scared of losing myself and those "up" periods where I see the world in a way I don't think many people can see it.

So, yeah. That's me and that's why I am 99% sure this is the disorder I have. Just wanted to know if some of You live, with peace and succeed to manage it to try to leave with normal state.

So you are saying you manage your bipolar with only fish oil? Are you sure you even have bipolar? In my experience one dr can dx one way in their opinion and another dr can be totally different with their dx. If you do have bipolar, lucky for you that it's so mild that you only need fish oil.

Since it seems like you pretty much are aware of your mood changes. So, here is something I did for the moods, as that's naturally something everyone experiences. To the best of my knowledge at least.  I personally went to a nutritionist. I take magnesium lactate. And you can google some facts about mag. It's a wonderful thing. It help with so much of what out body needs to function normally. Vitamin b2 b3 for the brain! Cataplex b and L tyrosine. I like to take a b12 in the day for extra energy and valerian root at night to sooth and relax my nerves. I hope this might be helpful to you. I had experienced a lot myself throughout the years and this seems to be a great regimin for me. Good luck again!

Thank you for sharing the story of your sister. I simply take OMEGA 3, since I don’t do any hallucinations as some of the bipolar do. I Have started 1500mg per day, I barely feel anxiety and no numbness in my low moods. Like in the past. What a deliverance!

All my life, now 44, I’ve been in denial of these cycles.  Now I know I have cyclothymic, just enough dose to get ahead impressively in life but cannot fulfill long term commitment in my low moods, which entitles in my case ; anxiety, fear (…and people seeing under another light), social fatigue, foggy thoughts, frozen…. It took a toll in my  friendship, my business, life basic responsibility, my life dreams. However, I’m fortunate to have a loving older mate who supports me in the all the ways. Got to know my person and enjoy caring, I guess for my true nature.

Just wanted to know from the members themselves, what they do too manage their cycles !?

My younger sister was diagnosed 2 yrs ago her story has it's ups and downs! I really feel like you want to take control over this disorder , as you should! :-) and good for you on that because that's exactly how you should take charge. Take your meds - hang out with friends- be happy because at that point when you know you take your meds all your thoughts are yours, all the feelings are yours and to be aware is to be alive. What meds are u on? My sister has schizo-affective bipolar disorder and so that made it harder to get a diagnosis right away. It's weird when you 2 disorders because it was hard for gear to tell hear thoughts apart from her disease. Anyway I see you are on such a good track because you understand this is only a illness! Not who you are! Take your meds to ensure your own comfort and enjoy life! Simple and true! When you don't treat the illness it will take over and make it harder for you to be in control. I wish you all the luck in this world.. If there's anything else please let me knw. Cheers!
