I have bipolar disorder and some anxiety. Sounds like you need a med adjustment or two. It can take a few years following diagnosis to find a mixture of medications that works for you. Mine (I have both audio and visual hallucinations) start happening when I'm manic more often than not and usually after a really bad one, I'll spiral back down to depression. It's unfortunate people can't understand things. Does your therapist do any sessions where you can bring your husband and in-laws with you to discuss the illness in general and your particular symptoms and triggers? It won't necessarily make them understand, especially if they don't believe in mental illnesses, but it will at least be you taking a step toward helping them. Stress from lack of support from those you love will take a toll and stress can often trigger episodes. Hang in there!
I was diagnosed with all of those except bipolar disorder, instead schizophrenia, but those two are like brothers in arms clinically. When do your hallucinations happen? I feel lonely myself even though people try to support me with my illness.
