Help with my husband

My husband has changed over the past 3 to 4 yrs.  He was a very happy, easy going person when we got married.  Now he has anger rages, he is unreasonable, irraitional and paranoid.   He thinks there is somthing wrong with our house and he has put holes in every room of our house and has said that there are recording devices in our house.   He thinks people follow up everwhere he goes and that the whole city is against him.   Just recently he now thinks my entire family is against him.   He has not worked in almost 4 yrs and says that no one will give him a job because the whole city is against him.   He constantly talkes to himself, stays up for 2 to 3 days and then does nothing but sleep for several days after that.   He has gained weight, seems very unhappy and constantly says he is worthless.   When he gets like this is usually lasts for 3 to 4 days.   Then he becomes normal and happy for a few days like nothing is wrong.   This has been going on for some time but seems to have gotten considerably worse in the last year.  His bad moods seem to last longer now and come more frequently.   I have had to take a pay cut in my job and have no medical insurance.   I do not know where to turn and what to do.   I am scared I am going to come home from work to find my house burned down or my husband dead.  I have been researching the systems online and I am not sure if he has Bipolor Disorder, Depression with Psychosis or other mental issues.    I am at a complete loss of what to do or where to turn.  I love my husband with all of my heart and want to get him some help.    Some days he thinks he needs to see a doctor but most of the time he thinks there is nothing with him.   I am not sure what the problem is and where to start.   Are there any programs out there that offer help for low income people and how can I find them?    What do these systems sound like to anyone out there?

Hi Lor154 ~ I agree with L.C.C. that your husband needs care. I am thinking not only for himself but the two of you. I can hear fear in your words, fear for your husband, yourself, your home and well being. Taking one of these at a time will help. That is why I agree that getting help for him is first.

I live in Washington State. We have hospitals that are under county & government funded dollars. They take people whether they can pay or not. We call these hospitals "County Hospitals". Are you qualified for government healthcare? I'm thinking that your husband may qualify for some medical program should he seek help and get a diagnosis.

My thoughts are with you ~ El

Do you have a local emergy you can take him to? If you are concerned that your husband is going to do something drastic, the hospital is the best place for him to be.
Are there no hospitals that can take patients without insurance? He does need immediate help for both your sakes, he's paranoid/delusional.
