Paranoid

I'm bipolar 2, but for about the last week i've been experiencing paranoia. Right now i would normally be sleeping but due to this heightened paranoia i can't get to sleep.  Yesterday i started experiencing some psychosis. And tmrw i have an appt. with my psychiatrist, so what should i ask him? Because i don't understand why this is happening if i was supposedly on the right meds and doing everything right. What do paranoia and psychosis mean?- the start of a mood swing, up or down, or something else......

I used to take Abilify and Prozac. But now my pdoc wants me just on the abilify...i talked to him today. He was very adimant (spchk) about starting me out on a low does of abilify and working up. My primary diagnosis apparently has not changed, however, i haven't been in to see my psychologist since all of this started. So we'll see how things work out. I think the toughest part right now is just getting my meds right. I know i'm being impatient, and i'm trying to fix that. But man don't you just wish sometimes that there was a magic pill that worked for everyone...anyways thank you both for your comments and input! i greatly appreciate it! God bless

Yes I require an antipsychotic as well as mood stabilizer and even if one of them is under study that's the combination I always needed and probably always will. Its best to explain exactly to your psychiatrist exactly what is going on and what is your primary diagnosis and if its changed.

I think you should tell your psych doc exactly what you wrote.  Also you CAN ask him/her exactly what is going with you.  What you are going through is NOT right.  Is there any way you can contact your doc tonight?  Give it a try.  I know you said you see your doc tomorrow but this needs to be addressed soon.  What kind of meds do you take?  I take Lamictal and Geodon.  They seem to be working for me so far.  It's about communication.
