Suddenly worse?

I have noticed that in the past few months, I'm not sure how long but maybe since about may, I seem to be getting worse and at a much faster rate. I am having more and more trouble concentrating and I am getting very forgetful. I'm cycling up and down pretty much constantly. I think I'm having mixed states a good deal of the time. July was particularly bad. I think I had at least 3 up cycles and I've had 2 down cycles and a mix of up and down in between. I feel myself going up again. But I think more and more I am having mixed states. I'm really struggling just to get through the day at work or at home.

Has this happened to anyone else? Have you suddenly just had a really hard time with no reason? Or just suddenly felt like you were getting worse?

Oh, thank you!

I am having such a hard time focusing and my work desk looks horrible with all the bits of paper and I can't get antyhing organized. I am trying so hard to keep my mind on positive things and to try to relax. I keep trying to get things done and I keep jumping from project to project and then I forget what I'm doing.

I am not on meds again yet as I haven't had the money to fill my new prescription and I never heard back on the med that was bad for me. But I am trying to get a psychologist through my employee assistance program so I have someone to talk to about these things.

It happens to me often and the hard part is not spending too much time worrying you are getting worse.  My difficulty has been with concentrating lately and if you are working you know how challenging this is.

I was cycling last fall up to Christmas and it was not fun.  It was then that I decided to try lithium and it has helped, but as I posted before it has brought the lithium flatness as well.

Be kind to yourself and accept that as hard as it may be there are times we can not figure out why our moods are what they are.  If possible talk to your pdoc for a med review.

All the best and take care of yourself.
