I weaned myself off of that once. It was hard, but mostly when I got down to 50mg. I was so dizzy and sick, and it felt like the room was spinning, and I couldn't walk because of it. Good luck!
I don't consider it a bad thing to come off of medicine and in some instances I would recommend it.
Welcome to the forum. If you don't mind me asking what other medicines do you take?
I couldn't tolerate side effects of either Lamictal or lithium.
Pdoc has me on low dose of Geodone at night for a mood stabilizer. It doesn't knock me out the way the Seraquel did, but she wanted to make the switch. I tried before to go med free. Felt super fantastic for 3 months. Then crashed and burned so bad hospital visit was necessary.
If you decide to go med free, first wean down. Then hire a good psychologist you can see weekly and get into a NAMI or DBSA support group.
One reason I failed. Too much time alone. Maxy
