There is a potential that if a person has bipolar that an anti-depressent alone can worsen mania. It would be worthwhile to discuss this with his psychiatrist so they can update and/or change his diagnosis and treatment within their discretion.
Honestly, you need to get him and you help ASAP. When he is in a good mood, ask him if he would go to counseling with you. I don't know him, or know how bad he is, but I do know there is a potential for him to go from threats to violence. I am manic depressive-bi polar, and I can have mood swings, but I wouldn't ever threaten my wifes life. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I am better than him, I am saying that he is not doing good if it gets to the point it has.
First, get him to the doctor, and on the sly, let the doctor know he is not doing good if he won't. Second, get him to a counselor, and third, get him to a psychiatrist or therapist.
All I am saying for sure, is help on a forum is not what he needs and you COULD be in danger.
I am going to delete this off my watch list, so if you still would like to talk, please message me.
Get to a psychiatrist pronto! Some anti depressants do cause major mania. I know because I am bi polar and when I took lexapro...I was a agitated mad woman. eek!
To make things worse...I stopped my anti depressant cold turkey and became seriosly manic like I have never experienced before. I was super emotional and super angry. Not myself at all. After just a few days/ weeks of treatment..I was ok. Good luck to you!
