LOL ;) - both are unacceptable which is why it needs to be sorted - There are many many other bipolar meds out there - so my guess is that you will either get used to the tablets you're on, in which case the side effects will decrease or change to something else which will be fine. You don't have to choose between psychosis or paralysis!!!

Wow. Ok. Thanks. I don't know which is worse: Psychosis or paralysis.

Yes when I took Seroquel I did at higher doses experience tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) which is a listed side effect of Seroquel on the medication package insert and website. Muscle stiffness of any kind can be a part of extra pyramidal side effects (temporary movement disorders) which can occur with any antipsychotic and can be treated with a side effect pill. Confusion and especially sedation are not uncommon and that's why I would agree with the other posters that it is best to take Seroquel right before going to sleep but you could speak to your psychiatrist about all this.

They had me take it before BED from the beginning, I meant.

I experienced difficulty moving and extreme sleepiness when I took Geodon until they increased the dosage and it became activating instead of sedating.  They had me take it before from the beginning because I guess they figured stuff like this would happen.  I told a family member who also took it that I had gone to work before when it was difficult to move because of it and they asked me how the hell I managed that.

Same thing happened to me a few times after taking the drug for seemingly no reason - limbs stopped moving soo sedated couldn't even speak and at the same time heartbeat went through the roof. Scary. However it hasn't happened for a few months now and I seem to have got used to it - perhaps the doc has started you on too high of a dose?. I'm on 500mg. These kinds of side effects are exacerbated by alcohol especially. I'd mention it to the pdoc you may not necessarily have to change meds, perhaps lower the dose or take it at night? but keep him in the picture!

Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
