well i have now learned that my cyst is actually 2.5cm and yes the surgeon is not impressed one bit. they made my appointment for jan 18th and i am not going. i am making phone calls to every neurologist until i find one that thinks my symptoms may be related. not only is this a big cyst but the mri showed slight mass effect to the surrounding tissue. i have been having episodes of electric shock severe pain behind my left eye. lasting for 30 sec. its paralyzing while its happening and this is a new problem. i also saw the eye doc and they see no significant change in my vision so thats not the cause for such severe visual disturbance. i want this thing out of my head. plus i had an mri 2 years ago and it was not there so it grew that large in less than 2 years. am i nuts or is this a big cyst. i know they can get bigger yet but most choroid cyst are less than 1cm.
A linking hub had a little blurb on a search "showed the presence of a 7-cm cyst within the antrum of the right lateral ventricle" so I guess choroid plexus cysts could get even bigger. Looked like that one was obstructive. Sent you a private message. May I offer a suggestion? What you might do is call daily to see if any cancellations have come up where you can get a sooner appointment with the surgeon. I'd mention my symptoms each time you speak to someone new at the office when you try as well.
god i hate these surgeons. theyre useless.
i mean i'm worried that they will not remove it and i need to get rid of it if its operable. i cannot drive anymore and i just want my life back. the surgeon has already said that the symptoms have nothing to do with my cyst, so i'm worried he will refuse to operate. they did say that its pushing on surrounding tissue to i would have thought they would help me but now i'm worried.
thanks for the info. do u have any idea what this might mean or if this is small or big. i'm really nervous. i don't see the neurosurgeon for 2 weeks yet and they said thats pretty quick.
I believe Audra was describing not a pituitary macroadenoma, but from a little research online and her typed up report, a cyst possibly inside one of the two largest ventricles in the brain (the right one) or on the choroid plexus, which is pia matter that is a fringe like process projecting into the ventricular cavity from a site I saw online.
On another site, I see that the choroid plexus forms spinal fluid, which flows through the ventricles and that there are four connected ventricles or cavities in the brain. It says the temporal lobe is involved in understanding sounds, the spoken word, as well as memory and emotion. And the area described in Audra's report I believe is at the right temporal lobe- that lobe of the head where your temple is located.
