Breastfeeding pillows

I have used a boppy with my son, and now with my baby daughter for nursing, and I am not impressed.  Can anyone recommend a really good breastfeeding pillow?  I went on line and saw "My brest Friend nursing pillows" they look really good, and have great reviews...your thoughts?

well i loved my boppy.  i suppose it can be good/bad depending on moms size, breast size, baby size ect.  when i nursed my dd in the nursery they had what i think is the breast friend pillow and i really liked it.

my thoughts are like i said, it can be so dependant on mom and baby that its good for some and not for others.  maybe you can go to babies r us and see if you can try one of theirs.

i have both the boppy and the brest friend. When I had my first, I already had the boppy from my shower. I started working with a LC and she really wanted me to get the brest friend. My neighbor who is also a LC agrees that it is much better for mom and baby. It is much better for promoting proper posture and nursing position. It is very firm and steady, so the baby's body is straight. this helps with digestion and helps cut down on spitting up. I also find it's easier to free one hand for things like typing with the brest friend. It's definitely easier on the back because it actually supports my back. At night, when nursing in bed, i can lean back a bit and the pillow and baby come with me because it's strapped on securely. When DD seems to be refluxing a little, I just sit so my leg props one side up a bit, or put a small pillow under one side. I think that helped a lot when I had my nursing/reflux issues earlier this week. She also seems to have an easier time dealing with my forceful let-down when she is properly positioned on the brest friend. Also, the baby does slip or slouch btw you and the pillow with the brestfriend.

i do still use the boppy occasionally- it's handy to have a second pillow laying around the house. But overall, I prefer the brest friend.

I had a breastfeeding pillow that I bought here in Germany but I didnt care for it that much.  Then I got a boppy and I can nurse my twins just perfect on it.  I never tried the brest friend, sorry.

I loved the Breast Friend when I had my daughter.  I am now pregnant with twins, and don't know how well it will work for two, but it was awesome for one!  I never had the Boppy, so can't comment, but I LOVED the Breast Friend!

I haven't logged on for a while so I am just now reading your post.  You may or may not have the brest friend pillow yet but I just thought I would give my two cents.  I love my brest friend pillow!  My LC recommended it (they were selling it right there so I didn't have to go anywhere else to buy it) and I'm so happy I did.  With the pillow, I'm able to pump and feed at the same time and it helps save some time specially at night (I can only get him to feed on one breast so I pump the other).  The pillow carries most of my baby's weight (born at 10.5 lbs) and it helps with my back problems.  I also agree with everything that tiredbuthappy said.

I use the boppy for my baby to lay on when I need to put him down for a few minutes, he likes it a lot.  I've rarely used it for feeding because I usually use my brest friend pillow.
