CA125 levels

My CA125 test keeps rising.  I am one and a half years out from chemo (cistplatin) and radiation (internal/external) for 2 months and 3 months of taxol and carboplatin for stage IIIC endometrial cancer.  My score has gone from 30 in November to 72 a month ago.  I just had another blood draw today.  My gyn oncologist watches me very carefully and I've had a bone scan, MRI, CTscan, chest xrays and other blood tests.  Everything comes out clean.  Should I request a PET scan?  I'm getting very worried and the waiting is driving me nuts! What can I do?

Hi Susie,

The best thing is to always double check, can't leave anything just hanging, so I would go for the PET. Beware at times the test shows up false positive. I think because it's a powerful scan.

What does your oncologist say?

While I'm not so good at taking myown advice, I would suggest 'yes' ask if you feel it will help.  I think the worst they can do is say 'no.'
