Roundworm Question

Roundworm Question

I recently had my 7 month old Tabby treated for roundworm( he picked them up off my brother-in-laws 2ish month old kitten). The vet warned us that we would see A LOT (she stressed a lot) of worms in his droppings and not to worry. My kitten indeed did pass some worms. However he only passed  a few and they were only in one piece of  a  "set" of droppings. When we noticed he had worms we didn't discover it from his droppings, he had one hanging out of his anus. I was wondering if it is fine that he didn't pass a lot?  If it might mean we caught the worms early and they didn't have time to multiply too much or if maybe we should get him another treatment for them?
Thank you very much in advance.

I think I would be concerned enough to call the vet and ask about the effectiveness of the medication and if there might be a need to re-medicate.  If you can't ask them on the phone for some reason, and you should be able to, I'd just go ahead and take him for a verification.

Chances are that you have it right and it was caught early, especially if you aren't seeing even the occasional worm in his feces.  However, safe is better than sorry, particularly with kittens.
