my kitties have been treated  a couple months ago for they had tape worms, i guess there from eatinga  flea, for they did have fleas, my cats are indoor cats and they have gotton the tape worms again..on 3 of my cats i have noticed them haveing them again.. anyways to get the pills that the vet given me when i took them in i cant get them no more unless i bring them in again, and i cant afford it at this time, i am on ssi and i pay bills and rent, i am currently  looking for a good but cheap priced earmite medicine as well along with tape worm medicine if there is one i can order or get somewhere, i REFUSE to buy anything from hartz,  is foster and smiths earmite meds good ? please let me know  thank you

You're referring to the tapeworm known as Cestodes?

The only remedy I'm aware of that you can get without a vet's prescription/ visit is called "Parasite DR".

I can't speak from experience as to how well it works though. It runs about $30.00.

Otherwise, tapeworms aren't dangerous, but they can keep your cats from getting vital nutrition from food. I'd suggest picking up a good multi-vitamin like Nupro to be sure your cats get all the vitamins and minerals they need to stay healthy until you can treat the issue effectively.
