Anyone here have a CSF leak that caused their CM??

Hey all!  I had to have a Nasal surgery 7 yrs ago (Turbinate reduction & polyp removal) & directly following my surgery...not only did I start getting a pin hole in my septum (which is the size of a dime now)...but I was noticing that every time I would bend over...clear fluid would come rushing out of my nose!  It was several years later, that I ran across info regarding "CSF fluid leaks."  I finally asked my 2nd ENT about this.  He did a quick "bend-over" test...but said if I HAD had this...that it had healed by now...which I agreed with ...as it had slowed down, then finally quit all together.  Just wondering though...if THIS had started "something" that has continued??...as I'm a total MESS now!! (Was trying to find out the culprit to my new neurological symptoms)  When reading up on CM...I ran across some info that mentioned "injuries causing CSF LEAKS" as being the initial cause of CM.  Just wondering if there's a connection here?? BTW...I also have Scoliosis.  Anyone experience this personally??  Thanks

Hello,

I have heard of acquired Chiari which can be caused by a CSF leak and low pressure.  Have you had a spinal tap to see what your pressure is?  If that is the cause the neuro told me that adding some spinal fluid may fix the problem.  Apparently, they have artificial now???  I dont have acquired CM but he discussed this as an option.  I hope this helps.

Thanks Pamk5!  No...I've requested a Spinal Tap numerous times...as MS has continually been suspected by myself & other doctors...but I continually get turned down!  So...not sure where to go from here?  Maybe find a NS?  Does anyone know of one in Oklahoma...or possibly the Dallas, Texas region who specializes in CM?  Thanks!
