Make sure they rule out EDS as well as checking ur heart, I do not think ur heart issue is Chiari related directly from straining, as I have strained my whole life too and do not have the same issues as u....we are ALL different and getting the right Dr to help u is key.
Hello Selma and thanks for being there for us -- I have not had surgery for Chiari yet but will - I had major surgery do to bone deteriorating in my neck and one was pressing into my windpipe etc.,= Anterior Cervical Decompression and fusion surgery C2-c7 replaced_ still healing. I recently went to ER because of pain, lightheadedness, shortness of breath etc, after straining during BM and they discovered a small aneurysm in the main value leading to the heart = going to see heart dr next week. I wonder could this be from straining over the years due to Chiari . -- Praying for Us All -- I was trying to return to work in all this pain, but I will not be able to do so right now -- cannot say up for long periods do to pressure on spine, neck, upper back etc.
SO if I got this right u r only 3 months post op?
At 3 months we generally will get a return of some symptoms and it is a form of healing or result of it.....the pains and symptoms we get at this point should not be as much or as bad or last as long as pre op...if it does or u develop new ones it is important to contact ur Dr.
Many develop related conditions or they were underlying and are just more noticeable post op.....
Depending on what u do at work, may slow ur healing process.
pre-op, I have lots of symptoms, blurred vision, pain in head, neck, shoulders, upper back, arms and hands, also shortness of breath, pain in my leg sometimes. I recently had to go to the emergency room and they found an aneurysm in the main aorta valve of my heart and I had decompression and fusion surgery in September that I am still healing from == I also have problem with my eyesight and feel tired and weak -- I am trying to return to work in pain = hope I can make it. How are you??
Hi....it all depends if u r pre or post op...if pre op most meds do not help and can hide new symptoms as they occur so it may not be the best way to go....get more testing to see how ur Chiari is affecting u and ur over all health and what related conditions u may have b4 u make ne decisions.
Finding the right Dr is key....u will want a true Chiari specialist.
