Concussion 1 year after surgery

OK, so I was swimming in a hotel pool on Saturday night and accidentally got kicked in the back of the head.  It was a complete and total accident.  Well of course I got a horrible headache and was dizzy and nauseous almost immediately, but once I got out of the pool and went and laid down for a while I felt OK.  Woke up Sunday feeling horrible.  Very nauseous, horrible headache, dizzy, kinda disconnected from reality, etc.  So went to my local ER and was told you "probably have a concussion".  They did do a CT which came back normal.  Told me to take Motrin and go home.  No meds, no nausea meds, no nothing. I went home took 800mg of motrin an I had some phenergan so I took one of those as well.
Well Monday morning I woke  up, still felt as bad if not worse.  So went back to ER.  This time they gave me 1mg of Dilaudid and 25mg of phenergan and some benedryl because dilaudid makes me itch lol.
Well it's Wednesday evening and I still feel LOUSY!!!  The nausea has subsided a little, still there but not as bad, but the headache is horrendous.
Does anyone have any suggestions.  It was a year ago today that I had my surgery!

Thanks in advance

Thanks everyone for your concern. I appreciate it. I called my neuro that's a headache specialist and also 2 hrs closer than surgeon and he prescribed a cocktail of compazine and visteral every 8 hrs for 3 days and that finally broke the headache. However, if it comes back, I will definitely call Dr Bejjani!!

Thanks again!! You all are great!!

I would call the dr who did your surgery and ask to be seen by him in the event something could be wrong. I was told after surgery if anything didn't seem right or if I was to be injured to call my surgeon or go to the ER of the hospital that did my surgery.

The reason Selma told you that is because there is no way to know for certain what is going on without a complete neurological exam and work up. The ER should have referred you somewhere if your symptoms did not improve... You have to start somewhere, preferably a Chiari specialist as Selma suggested given your history, and to be on the safe side. But if that is not possible, go to your PCP and have him order an MRA with contrast, and he can also so an initial evaluation. Depending on your test rests, you can also try to be evaluated by your NS if need be. Hopefully the ER is right and this will pass, but since you do have serious neuro symptoms, it is not worth taking any risks. Another option if need be go to the ER of the hospital that did your surgery if that's a possibility. But do take action to be evaluated and tested please. I know you must be worried. Let us know how you are and if you need any help in finding Dr's etc. I hope you feel better soon :-) Lisa

Selma,

The only Chiari Specialist I have is the surgeon who did my surgery (Dr. Bejjani at UPMC), but once he deemed me to be "healed" he did not want to see me again.
I have a neuro who is a headache specialist but not a chiari specialist.  There is not a Neuro Chiari Specialist who is not a surgeon in my area that I know of

I know the ER is not the place for answers, but I pretty limited, that's why I was asking for suggestions as to what may have happened.

Thanks!
