Disability, going in to see their doctors

Does anyone out their have advice for this point of disability? My dx Arnold chiari, spondylosis, cervical stenosis, depression, anxiety, HPN. My psychologist and dr wrote letters explaining limitations...and I can't work.i completely described all symptoms, but I'm still nervous. Any advice, like bringing in medical reports. I heard these drs are quick to say there is nothing wrong cause they see so many people. I'm one if those people who can't drive and do not socialize or do any normal day to day activities. Help!

Hi...Chiari alone is difficult to get disability...but since you do have a DX of depression and anxiety they are more likely to help you get it approved.

That said it is best to use an attorney as it can take time....some with Chiari and other conditions took up to 2 yrs to get approved and that was with an appeal since they were denied the first go round.

We do have a thread on tips to winning SSID.....I will bump it up.

Let me read between the lines.

I suspect you have a workman's comp disability case. They referred you to physicians who diasgree on the degree of disability.

(1) Square one. The doctors workman's comp refers you to are paid by the insurance company and their job is to deny benefits. Period. Their aim is to deny benefits and state youi can work.

(2) Under workman's comp law you can generally see ANY physician, but they cleverly do not tell you that. Insurance has to pay for that physician.. You need a disability document from a physician unaffiliated with the insurance company.
