I agree with Selma! Dr Di is worth the wait! Also the surgery he does is so less invasive! You are out of the hospital the next day! By day 3 I could see the improvement in all of my symptoms.

I know so much of this is out of ur control, but stress will cause ur symptoms to run a muck...making u feel worse....u have to try to relax as much as possible.

Vertigo can last as long as a few weeks, try the non drowsy formula of Dramamine to help u feel better .

I know how frustrating this process is....hang in there and do not jump to the first NS that offers surgery, wait for Dr Di as long as u can.....

I just wish some information would come our way....I have an appt with a NS at OSU on Wednesday to look at the 'prob glioma' and he also "does" chiari surgeries...would be nice to know what's up wit Dr Di and where he is going and if he'll be covered, etc as I'drather not restart my search on all of this.  I now have vertigo (a new symptom--always had dizziness, but vertigo is new) and my anxiety level hs ben hrough the roof the last few weeks.  I just need some answers ... CM has brought so many questions and I jus want answers...and, I want surgery...didn't want it before, but I just keep having more symptoms and it's progressing so rapidly...

Bummer deal! I was scheduled for surgery November 9 but had to cancel due to a family emergency. I am all the way in Seattle so I lost tons of cash just on airfare tix I didn't use. But now he is leaving...BUMMER! I hope his new office is still covered under my insurance. I am sure we are all praying for this...Wow

I hear u there.  I try not to drive anymore it is really an inconvience but when I think of what coul happen it just isn't worth it.   I thought I was having a stroke my entire left sid wasn't working I couldn't smile right I couldn't walk.    I am so glad I managed to keep my diamox down and get rid of that pressure.  This is such a scary disease and it is so sad that more doctors don't recognize this.    I will be praying for u and hopefully we hear soon some good news

He is done doing surgery by the end of the year--12/31/10 from what I understand...We should be getting news soon about what is going on, but, Lulu--your surgery (and mine) are cancelled.  CC wasn't giving him OR time and he fought back for Chiarians..I believe he will be practicing somewhere else and we should receive that information soon.

I have expressed disappointment in this on other support group. I was in tears the other day over it bc I just saw him and now I have a 2nd appt scheduled but luckily he is not leaving before my appt. It is just the surgery part..I am lost for now.  I hope he can shed light on this at my appt. It took me a long time to get into him and it was a long road to get to him for my answer on why I am so much worse after the last surgery.  I pray he will allow us to follow.

Hi...from what I have heard, and do not quote me, but Dr Di was not able to get the OR time he needed for his patients, so he is going elsewhere....where that is I have no idea at this point....I do not think he is giving up on his chiari patients, just trying to find a place better suited to allow him to better treat them.
