Fingers Swelling.

For about a month now the fingers in both my hands feel like they are swollen.T They look normal. This is a new symptom for me.

The feeling in the tips of my fingers have what I would describe as displaced sensation, like I was wearing gloves when touching something and they are numb with pins & needles, this has been going on for a long time.

Following some urology testing over the past few months including Flow Study, ultrasound Urodynamix's and cystoscopy my urologist feels that my bladder problem is due to disruption of the nerve pathways in the spinal cord due to one of the lesions within the cord. I have also had abnormal EMG showing  axonal neuropathy
For reasons best known to himself my NS feels that my problems are due to something that he cannot explain or identify and not the obvious CM & Syrinx

I too get finger swelling joint pain but don't ever see the swelling. My NS says it has nothing to do with the recovery of surgery but my PT says different. She said until my neck shoulder and arm muscles regain strength I will continue have this. My hands feel heavy like I an walking with weights in hand all day and feels like the fingers are gonna pop off at the joints. I look forward to PT to get relief.

Hi Carolyn, I can very much relate to that, I have posted about the rash thing in the past. I have had numbness in my feet for a few years, cant tell the difference between hot and cold.

The hand thing....I noticed mine first when I would wash my hands, it felt so weird when I rubbed them together... I get the glove feeling too.. Funny thing is I can't tell which hand is number..just that it doesn't feel right. My fingers swell too or feel that way, usually it is the middle finger and I can't bend it when it happens. I always thought it was due to eczema or a mild arthritis...

Hi selma, thanks for that. I know that their is a family history of RA but my GP thinks it is due to the neuropathy, the NS feels it is down to some upper motor neuron problem that he cant explain. all very confusing lol

Hi Ray....I think I mentioned I am having this as well...sometimes it is just my right hand...feels swollen and stiff...I really feel it is RA...and it is autoimmune and we r prone to autoimmune disorders.

After my urology testing the results were similar...nerve induced issues...mine from the TC.
