Headaches so bad you feel liquid in your ears?

I just had a question, beings this week has been horrific in  the way of headaches...

One of my strangest symptoms, is when I get a really horrible headache, I mean I cant lay down because the pounding builds and only worsens, I soon will feel liquid in my ear or ears depending if its all over or on my right side.

Anyone else experience this??

Also, before we moved to Houston, we flew on the plane with horrible turbulence, I could literally feel the pressure rising in my body, and my head. The next thing I knew I had fluid coming out both ears. Like I had a leak.

Would love to know if anyone else had experienced this??

Hugs
Amanda

Selma,

He said he would not risk a lumbar puncture for fear of suction to the cerebellum. He said LP's are very dangerous to people with Chiari.

I asked the same thing. I had thought a spinal study would have been in need. And that they should check the pressure or levels of CSF.

That was the explanation given to me... I would love to hear what you guys think.. Especially since this is all new.

If u have more pressure when u lie down it is an indication if ICP....try to elevate the head of ur bed so u r not lying flat....

Since u had the leak from pressure in a plane, I am curious as to what ur Drs had to say ....what they did next?

I would suspect they would RX a LP to check for ICP.

My last MRI was in JULY 2011. They havent done anymore. I only experience this when my headaches as I described above, horrible pressure. And I'll sitting there, or lying there in pain, and the next thing I know I feel like my ears are draining??? It is by the far the strangest feeling. I get a q-tip, and its damp when I check my ear(ears).

The dr. had told me he had wished I had "tasted" the liquid, which was odd for me. I never would have thought to do this? I dont know if CSF has certain taste to it??

I have the same issue with the headaches lately and the feeling of wet ears. I know we can get water in our ears and thats what ive been told. But we know the difference of that. I had surgery   in aug and i have this feeling all the time lately too. I had my last csf flow study in oct and theres no known leak for me. But ive been told the mri is your laying down relaxing so its harder to find a leak. As to when  we are upright. When was the last mri for you?
