The doctor wanted to know about Elizabeth's headaches and I really didnt know. I havent be keeping up with them. I know she has them but I really dont know how often. She just had one in the back of her head that lasted about ten minutes.
Would yall please explain to me how they feel, how long yours last, just everything you can think of about the headaches.
Thank you for helping me better understand.

I know what you mean. She is a very lucky little girl to have a mom like you to advocte for her, and for you to truely try to understand what she is going through really is an amazing characteristic of you. It shows what a truely lovely woman you are. I'm sorry, I dont remember how old your beautiful DD is...? My DD's name is Paris Elizabeth, so I love her name :)

My 7 yr old son, Logan, has recently been complaining of headaches, and I keep asking him wht they are like. I was thinking that he needed an eye exam, but after exhaussting that option and finding that his eyes are fine, I am very worried. I keep telling myself I shouldn't worry so much about it, that it is probably nothing, but, I can't help but worry that he may be having them for the "wrong " reason, and I pray that he does not have anything like what we are all dealing with.
My doctor had me start taking epsom salt baths as hot as I could stand them 3-4 times a week, as a sort of HA preventiitive, and it has helped slightly.
If she like to take baths, it is a very cheap, natural way to possibly prevent them from getting so bad.
It at the very least will keep her muscles relaxed and keep her stress down, which trigger HA's. Just a thought.
Hope that she feels better soon. If you have any ?'s about anything, just ask, and I will try to answer them for you. My heart goes out to you and your DD.

Thank you it does. I feel so bad for her. I think she has thought they were normal headaches. I remember even when she was 5 her complaining of headaches and I thought she was overreacting.

Well, there are different types....

1st ... there are the short headaches that occur anytime you strain for anything.. resulting in about 5 to 10 minutes of extreme intense pressure and pain.
It sometimes triggers ones that last much longer at the same intensity.

2nd....there are the ones that hit you out of no where usually with lots of pressure at the base of the skull and back of the head ....lgiht and sound tend to make them worse.

3rd... ones that gradually intensify to unbearable pain. (sometimes they hit out of nowhere hard ) normally only lying in complete dark, with an ice or heat pack ( i prefer heat) and taking something to knock me the ____ out  help at all. These are the ones that I get most frequently, and I normally try a hot bath first as hot as I can stand it, and when that fails, the knock out method is all I have left, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

There is also this weird quarter to hal dollar sized localized immense pain that happens frquently throughout the day.

I dont know if this helps, but these are what I deal with, and I remeber being about 9 or 10 telling my mom I had a HA, and her thinking and saying well, baby...I guess your just worried and stressed about that test , ( I did stress out about that alot though, even though I always did well).

I didnt know that wasnt what normal HA;s , so I didnt know to tell her differently. Of course they didnt happen a whole lot then, probably about once a month. Good luck with your DD, and I hope this helps
